The band formed from the Ritmo 2003 Percussion Club (leader György Balogh) on the spring of 2004. Gyuri mentioned to found bateria to act as a club for firends, and take the music of the Brazilian Carnaval to Hungary, first time in the country.

To the first four rehearsals we invited the brazilian (jazz)drummer Fernando Paiva da Silva from Vienna who gave us the base of the style in his representation and made us samba-lovers. Our workshops held in Népliget in Budapest in a familiar feeling. Our first surdos and repiniques made in a tinman's shop for our special order. These instruemts were used until 2007 with their wounds and injuries.

Our first show was June 2004 on a footrace, since that time we often play on
- sport and health events
- festivals
- processions
- company events

More and more beautiful samba dancer join the band boosting the hotness of the samba with their authentic dance, make our shows more interesting and spectacular.
They are from different - and more and more popular - samba dance schools. (see Links)

The band appears not only in Budapest but almost everywhere in Hungary - we played in Győr, Tiszaújváros, Szeged, Szombathely, Székesfehérvár, Veszprém, Tatabánya, lake Balaton and so on.

A brand new impression was our appearence on the International Samba Festival in Coburg. This festival is being organized since in July every year since 1991. We take part since 2007 as the first participants from Hungary. (See also Bloco de Budapeste.) Here we have the opportunity to broaden our international contacts and learn a lot new things. And since programmes and atmosphere is exciting it is an extraordinary experience.

Our goal is playing for fun and improve our professional skills, broaden the repertoire and to make popular in Hungary these unique rhythms and tunes. Our loud music played with interesting instruments (see Instruments) make masses enchanted.
As in other hobby bands we have new members and others go, but with the friendships, the joy of shows, rehearsals and listening to music the feeling of samba stay with us.

This is a hobby band, anybody can join. The cirtera are of coures the sense for rhythm, diligence and some knowledge of music also useful. (Contact Gyuri Balogh for more details - see Contact)
Who learns and plays correctly our songs can play with us after a while.
